OPERATIONS MANUAL
PROGRAMMING Mountain Yoga provides instruction at all levels with extra attention given to providing a solid start to beginning students. Our programming includes yoga from across traditions and other somatic movement modalities. In addition, we offer events in dance, music, drawing, and creative writing as means for healing and self-discovery . We offer programming online, in-person and outdoors and average 30 classes a week and 2-3 special programs per month, and 1-2 yoga retreats annually. Please email your ideas for a new class or workshop you would like to present to the Studio Manager for consideration. Include the title, a 2-3 line description including the need it will address, and the presentation format you are envisioning. CLASSES Schedule. We intentionally keep our staff small, and prefer our instructors teach a minimum of two classes per week. Classes are typically 75 minutes and mixed level as we find these are typically the best attended. The more specialized the class title (e.g., Lunch Hour Slow Flow and Yin Meditation) the fewer people typically attend. Holiday Classes On Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day all regular classes are cancelled, and one special holiday practice is taught for the day (additional registration required.) Christmas Day we are closed. WORKSHOPS Schedule Teachers are encouraged — but not required — to teach occasional workshops or class series on topics of individual specialization. Workshops are typically 2-3 hours and held on Saturday afternoons. Multi-week Class Series are usually 90-120 minute sessions held on Sundays over the course of 4-6 weeks. We find that our students respond well to the rhythm of regularly occurring workshops, and consequently have numerous regularly occurring series and programming initiatives that shape our annual calendar.
