COMMUNICATION
​+ PUBLIC RELATIONS

Clear, compassionate communication is central to all we do. We have an Open-Door policy at Mountain Yoga.  Need to change your class schedule? Request a raise? Share concerns about a student or fellow staff member? Email the Studio Manager.  In certain instances, the Director may be invited to participate in the conversation.

We communicate primarily by email and ask that all employees respond to correspondence within one work day.  In addition, we will be staying in close contact with you through the following means:

Monday Missives
Every Monday you will receive a weekly update from the Studio Manager with a call-to-action, class announcements, and a piece of good news!  

Staff Meetings
Quarterly Staff Meetings are mandatory and compensated. Staff meetings are generally held the last Tuesday of the month at 2PM PT (Don’t forget to clock in and out!) In the rare event you are unable to attend, notify us in advance, review the recording, and respond as necessary. Staff meetings are generally held via zoom and occasionally in person:

Staff Evaluation Process
We are in frequent contact with our teachers about how we can come together to create the best experience for our students.  

COMMUNICATION WITH STUDENTS
As staff member of Mountain Yoga you are a representative of the studio.  Without a front desk, being able to communicate with students about the studio's staff, classes, events, and pricing has never been more important!   Stay up to date with studio activities by subscribing to our weekly eNews and periodically reviewing our website so you can converse easily about all Mountain Yoga has to offer its community.
 
Class announcements
Each week you will have 1-3 studio announcements to make before or after teaching class emailed to you on Monday by the Studio Manager. This is an opportunity to share information that may be very helpful to your students. Let your students know what you find exciting, and if you have personal recommendations for them. Announcements about personal activities outside of Mountain Yoga must be limited to inviting students to your website/social media for information.

Appropriate Conversation
Our community is a friendly bunch.  We encourage you to be warm and personable in class while still maintaining a professional demeanor.  Remember that students come to class to let go of mundane concerns and turn to their yoga. Help your students stay focused on their practice by keeping the conversation on point. A little friendly banter is fine, but stay away from "oversharing" about your personal challenges, fixating on technological difficulties, or sharing private behind-the-scenes information about the studio or its community.
