 Want to progress in your yoga practice?  Could you use less struggle and more pleasure on the mat?  Learn how to find greater ease, range and fulfillment in your yoga thru the somatic practice of Feldenkrais in this exciting new workshop collaboration with yoga teacher Gail Wallace and Feldenkrais instructor Mary Armentrout.  Enjoy a fascinating and practical exploration of body and movement thru subtle sensation and new possibilities that will unlock your poses and the joy of practice.

This workshop is appropriate for:
  • All levels of students
  • Those wanting to progress in their yoga practice
  • People wanting to reduce effort and increase results
  • Students wrestling with the limitations of  old injuries
  • Individuals interested in developing interoception
              (the perception of sensations of the body.)

Each workshop focuses on a specific spinal movement found in yoga poses: twisting, back-bending, forward-bending, and side-bending.  Sessions begin with a simple yoga practice, followed by a Feldenkrais session, then an illuminating return to the original yoga sequence — where immediate progress can be experienced!

Gail Wallace has been a yoga teacher for 10+ years and is on the staff of Mountain Yoga.  As a student of Mary's Feldenkrais classes for several years, she has come to appreciate how Feldenkrais movement principles and practices can open up rich worlds of interoception that support her yoga practice and that of her students.
Mary Armentrout is a dancer and Feldenkrais teacher with a lifelong fascination with all forms of movement and embodied wisdom.    Mary sees Feldenkrais for yoga students as  supportive and illuminating, able to speed students on their path towards a rich and rewarding personal movement practice.
