yoga for HEALTHY FASCIA| feb 26

As we learn more and more about the fascia of the human body, it becomes clearer that these tissues, once ignored, need to be kept healthy for us to be healthy. This workshop will share some of the basics of fascia, research on maintaining the health of fascia, how yoga fits in, and a fascia focused yoga practice.​

Doing crossword puzzles and Sudoku is not nearly enough to keep our brain’s healthy as we age. In fact, certain forms of exercise may be more effective, and yoga is one of those (and you get so much more than exercise with yoga!). This workshop will share some of the aging changes to our brains, some research on how to optimize your brain health, how yoga fits in, and a brain health focused yoga practice.

 This crossroad between our legs and the upper body plays a surprisingly important role in our overall health. This workshop will share some the basics of the pelvic area, some common issues that people may encounter, and how yoga can help support the health of the pelvis and sacrum, with pelvis-focused yoga practice.

Your feet are your foundation! Develop a solid base through yoga to support the under-appreciated and overused foot with Dr. Baxter Bell. Learn how to maintain healthy feet and work with troublesome conditions of the foot and ankle for better balance and overall health.​​

11.20  | 2-4pm  Many of us hold most our tension in our neck. Learn how to release and strengthen this vital, vulnerable part of the body. We'll look at common conditions such as "tech neck" and arthritis. Not appropriate for students with acute or flared injuries.​
 yoga for HEALTHY SHOULDERS
Carry the weight of the world on your shoulders? Spend hours at the computer? Shoulder discomfort, injuries (including rotator cuff strains) and reduced range of motion can result. Learn how to prevent future injuries, find release, and feel greater lightness and ease.​​

The lower back tends to give us human's more trouble than any other part of the body.  This session will introduce us to healthy anatomy and function of the back and ways of improving strength and mobility of the lumbar spine. Not appropriate for those in acute pain.

yoga for INFLAMMATION
Summer=heat.  In this 2-part three hour workshop Baxter addresses inflammation.  Part one will cover inflammation in the era of Covid19, including some promising breath work to optimize lung health. Part two covers the ubiquitous osteoarthritis, its connection to inflammation, how yoga can help and practice tools for ongoing general joint health.
