the inspiration series

In your light I learn how to love.
In your beauty, how to make poems.
You dance inside my chest,
where no one sees you, but sometimes I do,
and that sight becomes this art.
                                                — Rumi

"The way of art will guide one to the way of opening," wrote mythologist Joseph Campbell. Mountain Yoga enters the second year of an exciting new project based on this very premise, the Inspiration Series. Taken from the latin root inspirare, to "breathe in spirit," inspiration is a subtle and sublime state — one could easily say a spiritual experience.  "Art is the clothing of revelation," wrote Joseph Campbell.  "The aesthetic experience is a simple beholding of an object....you experience a radiance. You are held in aesthetic arrest."

The Inspiration Series is a monthly presentation series featuring prominent artists, authors and scholars in presentations highlighting the capacity for art and literature, philosophy and nature, to inspire and transform.
