Victoria has been studying Ayurveda in earnest since 2003. Recently she completed a second clinical internship in the Kolhatkar Ayurvedic lineage of Pune, Maharasthra. Her Masters-level studies include: Bhaishajya Kalpana (herbal formulas), Dinacharya (daily lifestyle routines), Pancha Karma (therapeutic cleansing), Kaya Chikitsa (internal medicine), Nidan and Samprapti (assessment of imbalances & disease development), and Shad Darshana (philosophies, Yoga among them). Marlene earned her massage therapy license in 1974 and has since worked with thousands of individuals, taught therapeutic massage courses in universities, and founded a professional massage school in Washington D.C. In 1984 she began training as an acupuncturist, earning a master’s degree in the U.S., and studying in England. In addition she studied herbal medicine with Ted Kaptchuk and completed continuing education trainings in stress management at Princeton Theological Seminary and the Mind/Body Medical Institute at Harvard Medical School. Marlene pursues an ongoing interest in the contiguous approaches of ancient Indian and Chinese Medicine to address modern day issues of body, mind, and spirit. Ursula is a bay area native. She grew up in a community where there was a strong emphasis on the healing power of energy work. She has studied massage at Berkeley Acupressure institute, National Holistic Institute, McKinnion Body Therapy Center, and Mudita school of Thai Massage in Thailand. She has done many different types of massage but has a special love for Thai Massage. She is also an Esthetician. She has done a teacher training with Piedmont yoga and is consistently learning new things from the practice of yoga that feed her creativity and bodywork.
