the yoga of nature
kathren murrell stevenson
Friday, March 30, 7-8:30pm

"A morning-glory at my window satisfies me more than the metaphysics of books." — Walt Whitman

Our very own yoga instructor and plant ecologist Kathren Murrell Stevenson shares her personal passion and unique expertise in this rare evening devoted to healing through deeper fellowship with nature.  Building on the life work of Stephen Buhner, author of “The Secret Teachings of Plants”, the teachings of indigenous healers/teachers Eliot Cowan and Angeles Arrien, and a decade of study of yoga practices and principles, Kathren shows how contemporary issues of isolation, depression, and anxiety may be healed through practices that reconnect us with the natural world. Employing lecture, movement, meditation and inquiry, Kathren will skillfully lead us into an experience of a more intimate relationship with nature — and to ourselves!

Kathren Murrell Stevenson, Ph.D., CYT shares classes, workshops, and retreats in Yoga, Arts and Ecology.  She holds a Ph.D. in Plant Ecology from UC Davis and is an adjunct faculty member in the department of Philosophy, Cosmology and Consciousness at the California Institute of Integral Studies.
